Brainsway Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared outpatient procedure with proven clinical results for improving symptoms of major depressive disorder. This technology stimulates neuronal targets areas of the brain that are affected by neuropsychiatric disorders. TMS is covered by most insurances for depression. Deep TMS is safe and well-tolerated, has no systematic side effects and does not require anesthesia. Typically, patients undergo 36 sessions over 8 weeks of treatment. You can also visit www.brainsway.com to learn more about deep TMS, see clinical research and hear testimonials from real patients. Talk to your doctor to see if TMS treatments could be right for you.
Esketamine (Spravato) was approved by the FDA in 2019 to treat TRD. Its rapid delivery system means depression symptoms can ease within several hours. Esketamine is administered as a squirt in each nostril, followed by a two-hour monitoring period. Standard dosing involves taking the medication twice a week for about four weeks, then switching to once a week for another four weeks and then tapering off over time. Research has shown that Esketamine can significantly reduce depression symptoms — relief that can last weeks after treatment ends.
Esketamine work differently from standard antidepressants. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), for example, ease depression by increasing levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger carrying signals between brain cells. SSRIs block the reabsorption (reuptake) of serotonin, making it more available in the brain. Talk to your doctor to see if Esketamine treatments could be right for you.
BrainView NeuralScan is a system that allows for an objective and neuro functional measurement using the electroencephalogram activity of the brain (EEG), electrocardiogram activity of the heart (ECG), visual and auditory processing speeds (evoked potentials), and subjective neuropsychological survey. This is a test that provides a "lab test" for the brain that can assess for potential cognitive disorders. The scan will analyze your brain waves and let us know if there are any abnormalities that correlate with your symptoms.
BrainsView is designed to help effectively measure biomarkers related to seizures, to memory loss, cognitive impairment, and other stress-related neurological conditions. A neuro-functional physiology report of the results is provided, data summary, raw data, and images. The system is non-invasive, and pain-free.
It enables our doctor to obtain a collection of your neuro-physiological biomarkers, which profile the patient's neurological function. This allows the physician to gain additional clinical information vital to making a well-informed patient-care decision. Talk to your doctor to see if Neuroscan could be helpful in diagnosing you or a loved one to better help get the treatment you need.
We offer telehealth calls via live videoconferencing for when you are not able to come in person for your appointment.
